The Parenting PATH is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect in northwest North Carolina. This mission is accomplished through a variety of services aimed at strengthening families, enhancing parent-child relationships and increasing community awareness.

Supervised Visitation and Monitored Exchange

Supervised visits and exchanges are designed to assure that children can have safe contact or transfer with a non-custodial parent without conflict. Parents may be in the midst of divorce or impacted by 50B protection plans.

Co-Parenting for Healthy Childhoods

Welcome Baby

Welcome Baby is a free service designed to provide support for new parents in their homes located in Forsyth County. We provide support, child development information, home visitation, and community resources.

  • Welcome Baby provides 24-hour telephone services for parents with questions and/or concerns about infant care
  • Postpartum services and referrals available
  • Under 5 Club: Quarterly educational group for moms and dads with children under 5 years old

Parent/Teen Solutions

Parent/Teen Solutions is a program offered to improve parent and teen relationships by opening lines of communication for families with children in a group setting. Participants learn about healthy communication, relationships, and topics relevant to teens.

12 week group for parents and teens (12-17 years old) In home visitation services (7-17 years old)
Meals, childcare and transportation available. 

Respite Care Program

Our respite care provides a temporary safe-haven for children that allows for short term relief for parents and/or caregivers to address their own and other family members health, social, and emotional needs. Parents or agencies can call 24 hours/7 days a week for services. Available for Forsyth county residents only.

Free. Transportation available.

Intensive Family Preservation Services (IFPS)

Intensive home visitation for families to prevent out of home placement of children. Services include: family assessment, intensive family and individual attention, client advocacy, case-management, enhancement of parenting skills, and referral to other services as appropriate. Offered in Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Iredell, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin counties.

28-day program, 10 hours per week

Clinical Services

STA/SAFE (Systemic Treatment After Sexual Abuse)

Intervention for sexual abuse victims, siblings, parents/partners and offenders. Risk assessment for abuse reactive children up to 18 years of age. Individual and group treatments available.

Telephone Counseling

24-hour telephone counseling for families in crisis or involved in child abuse. Call 336-978-9150.

Community Education

The Parenting PATH offers training and workshops to educate the public on child abuse and neglect with a wide range of subjects, including day care consultation, prevention programs for children, presentations on identification and intervention, as well as program development consultation. Call our offices to request more information.
