A Peer-Led Path to Restorative Justice
Teen Court is a restorative justice program that gives youth an opportunity to take responsibility for their actions without acquiring a formal juvenile record. Instead of navigating the traditional juvenile court system, participating youth appear before a jury of their peers to make amends and restore community trust.
Instead of navigating the traditional juvenile justice system, youth appear before a jury of their peers to make amends through:
- Community service
- Apology letters
- Educational assignments & essays
- Jury duty service for future cases
