What We Do

Teen Court

A Peer-Led Path to Restorative Justice

Teen Court is a restorative justice program that gives youth an opportunity to take responsibility for their actions without acquiring a formal juvenile record. Instead of navigating the traditional juvenile court system, participating youth appear before a jury of their peers to make amends and restore community trust.

Instead of navigating the traditional juvenile justice system, youth appear before a jury of their peers to make amends through:

  • Community service
  • Apology letters
  • Educational assignments & essays
  • Jury duty service for future cases

<5% Recidivism rate for Teen Court graduates*
Teen Court is more than 4x more effective at keeping youth out of the justice system than traditional juvenile court proceedings and builds decision-making skills, accountability, and respect for the law.
