FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Parenting PATH announces opening of Pinwheels Thrift Store and Family Center
(Winston-Salem, NC) – Pinwheels Thrift Store and Family Center recently opened its doors for the first time on October 25th. Invited guests were able to tour the new facility that boasts clinical offices, community classroom space, and a thrift store retail area.
An affiliate of The Parenting PATH, Pinwheels will be available to all client families as well as the entire Forsyth County community for shopping and gathering.
Elizabeth Miller, CEO of The Parenting PATH, believes Pinwheels will be a wonderful way to connect so many facets of the community. “We really wanted to expand both what we provide for our client families and also to the community as a whole.” says Miller. “This is a way we can incorporate our mission to serve more families of Winston-Salem and the surrounding areas in even more ways.”
The newly renovated building at 631 Coliseum Drive, Winston Salem, will house the clinical staff of The Parenting PATH who see children and parents for an array of services such as Trauma-Focused Therapy, Parent Coaching, and Co-Parenting sessions. There is also space for group classes for teens or parent support.
Pinwheels will also feature partner program RestoreOne, a care closet focused on providing for fostering parents. Through RestoreOne, foster parents are able to come and “shop” for essentials when they have a child come into their home. “This is such a great partnership.” says RestoreOne founder Michelle Ravish. “Our two organizations share so many of the same values and the desire to serve families and children. It was a natural fit that we can blend the two organizations and serve even more children.”
Clinical offices will be open Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm by appointment only. Please see our website www.parentingpath.org for information about our Programs and Services.
The Pinwheels Thrift Store opened to the public for shopping, donating, and volunteer opportunities starting on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Hours of operation will be Wednesday – Saturday, 11am – 6pm. For more information about donations and volunteer opportunities please see our website at www.PinwheelsWS.com.
